Psalm 83 Who is God?

We love to talk about God's mercy, love and forgiveness. And He IS those attributes. But isn't he also full of justice and judgement? I can't imagine how backwards we must have it sometimes. I'm sure God thinks "what are they doing!? My children--look at ME!" It's like what we talked about in our time together this morning in regards to our children--if they would just listen to me...for I know what is right...then their days would be better! But how many times do we have to learn it our own way. We have to learn the hard way and experience the trouble. Psalm 83 is talking about God pursuing us and terrifying us with his storms. That we should cover our faces with shame so that we will finally seek His face.
1. When have you had to cover your face with shame and ask for forgiveness?
2. God longs to humble us so that we will look to Him. Are you letting God humble you? He is ALL AROUND if we look for it.
3. Instead of focusing in the "mirror" at what is going on--can we look to God at what he is wanting to show us?
God wants to teach you and refine you. When we pursue holiness--which is God's face--we are faced with our own unholiness. That's one humbling place to start.
