psalm 39: what if today was it?

Life is brief. Each mans life is but a breath. We bustle about but only in vain. We heap up wealth, not knowing who will get it. These are the words from David's lips--as he is crying out in anguish to his Lord.
Today as we go through our day, remember that our life here on earth is brief. Our parents lives, children's lives, friends, co-workers, husbands, etc...their lives are brief. Only God knows and has control of the numbers of our days.
Who do you want to be today? Do you want to be remembered as the nagging wife who was never satisfied? Do I want to be the one with the hardened heart because of unforgiveness, bitterness or jealous? Nope.
Today I will remember the Psalms and Ecclesiastes--the meaninglessness of a lot of what we do--the chasing after the wind. After all--God has only given us a "few days of life." Ecc. 5:18. Spend today as if it were your last--fully engaged with your children, loving and respecting your husband, supporting and encouraging your friends and most importantly--spending time in worship with your heavenly Father.
