Psalm 80 - Garden tender

Psalm 80 is prayer for the lost and needy. Israel is likened to a sheep in need of its shepherd and a vine once tended and prosperous but now burned, trampled and eaten. I've never tended sheep but this is the first year I have tended a garden. It is has been a fun project but a lot of work. A garden unattended is susceptible to all sorts of dangers. I've battled weeds and rocky soil. I've dug trenches to divert flooding away and spent hours watering. I've lost fruit to groundhog, bugs and my children's overeagerness to pick. This psalm tells us we are like a vine, dependent on our gardener. We can rely God our gardner to restore us, to shine His face and favor on us like a plant needs the light from the sun and we will be saved from the weeds, groundhogs, droughts and other bad situations that come into our life. Won't you ask for restoration and salvation today?
Psalm 80 Questions -
1. Which area in your life to you need turned back to God? Where have you disobeyed his commands?
2. Are you receiving your care from God or are you relying on yourself for you daily needs?
3. What does it mean to have God's face shine upon you? Where do you need saved?
4. Do you pray for revival for yourself? For others? For your church? For your nation? Will you now?
